last night before the event...

Robert's vehicle is submitted and checks out.

Since it's so late and I'm super tired (picked my banjo in a bluegrass jam tonight & just got home) I'm going to wait till tomorrow to post walkarounds and get started... That leaves Thomas just a few hours to submit any desired changes...

I've added a spectator. Welcome Jon! :-)

Working on MH42 TONIGHT

Just a placeholder post, for those that might be watching...

I just emailed the players with my reasons for being out of touch on this event... Namely, my gaming time has been spent GM'ing an Edge of the Empire game with 3 old buddies from high school, plus my son that's eight hours away. We play once a week, plus there's the GM time in addition to that. We are having a BLAST! :-)

Also, I've been doing more and more with my music lately... I'm still writing songs and I'm picking the banjo now as well as playing bass in a "once a month" dance band and I've started my own little trio as well.

And I'm in the middle of a Kickstarter campaign for my FIRST CD!!! Would love you to take a look and share this with your friends...

Okay - now to look at the designs I've yet to check...

pre-game reading

Though you are NOT required to use it, here's the current version of the MADHAT Spreadsheet. It's the format I put your entry into when I'm checking it. (yes - even if you use this I still "punch it in fresh" so that I don't miss anything)

Thanks to Chris Johnson for starting this and thanks to Curt Lindmark for continuing with updates!

Please note that it does some things that I as a referee ignore... It figures HC based on spoiler/airdam and driver skill. It also figures to-hit rolls based on computer and gunner skill. The notes in my games ignore these "figured" values and uses true values with manual modifiers. Again - just a heads up. :-)

A couple of other links...

The Car Wars Compendium version 2 5th printing is now available from e23 -

http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=SJG30-7142

I would also like to remind you to request Uncle Al's Catalog from Hell to be released that way. I would buy it in a heartbeat, just like I bought the Compendium...

The FAQ is publicly viewable on Google Docs. It's big, so unless you just want to read EVERYTHING about Car Wars that a ref like me has & does, feel free to skim it and/or search. :-)

The main thing to note is that this is Division 10. Normal AADA rules apply (military weapons are banned, etc.). Personal equipment is limited to any type of Body Armor (including Flak Jacket & Battle Vest) & Portable Fire Extinguisher. Cost & weight DOES apply to the vehicle max cost & weight. You are allowed up to two crew with 30 skill points each (maximum of 20 points in any one skill).

The game is over immediately if someone reaches 100 points and is not OOC (out of control). If someone reaches 80 points they will win in 25 phases if they are still in the lead and not OOC. If they are OOC they will win as soon as they are back in control.

If there is no clear winner by turn 30 then the event ends and the winner will be the person with the most points.

Any specific questions, please ask!

Division 10 - Mayor Smith Memorial

Per the title, this will be a Division 10 event in the Mayor Smith Memorial.

I can't remember where I found this map... It's been in my digital collection for some time though.

I've posted the map below along with some counters on it to show the scale. The easy thing to remember is that each square is 1".

Gates will be randomized - everyone will start at any speed up to 30. No speed change during Turn 1.

Here are the players so far -

I'm still waiting for a reply from Paul Spense and Randy Balduff. If I don't hear from them by the deadline they will be bumped and the next two in the waiting list will move into this event.

I had said this would not start before MH41 was finished, and that's still the case, but I expect it to be finished in the next 48 hours...

Deadline for vehicle submission is 72 hours from now...

Good luck! And most importantly - HAVE FUN! :-)

BTW - any of you coming to GenCon this year? It will be my first...
